Our goal for this project was to update a dated exterior in a manner that respects the existing architecture, and provide a design for the landscape at the rear of the house. We completed the interior a few years ago and this year, they have asked us to work our magic and transform the outside of their charming home.
We updated the exterior with contemporary materials in a contemporary colour palette. It was important to introduce the architectural elements and to craft a living space that would extend outside of the home. This allows for more useable square footage in the summer months. You can see from the video, that we maintained the integrity of the home's 1960's architecture, making the renovation authentic and true to the structure.
The video presentation shows both the before and after...
- new cedar shingle roof
- new roof over garage to give the house more presence and balance
- powder coated metal cladding over the existing brick that integrates and conceals exterior lighting
- new metal clad doors and windows throughout
- new terrace doors at the front of the house that link to outdoor patio spaces. Planter walls create privacy and add interest to the front of the house
- new deck at the rear with separated spaces for an outdoor kitchen and outdoor living room overlooking new infinity pool.
Our clients love the design and construction is set to begin this summer. We will post photos once the project is complete.
