Key Responsibilities:
- Manages residential and commercial construction projects from bid to completion
- Reviews proposals and drawings to determine scope of work
- Prepares detailed estimates by completing take-off of scope of work and estimates project costs
- Works with clients to plan and provide cost-effective options
- Identifies potential design and construction problems
- Develop, track, and maintain documentation of project estimates, schedules and budgets
- Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current and accurate information on prices from suppliers
- Prepares final estimate summaries, analyzing each section for scope, pricing and completeness
- Travels to site to work with crew members on installations
- Travels to site to manage and liaise with customers for ongoing projects
- Liaises on site with customers and subcontractors
- Completion of College diploma or technical training in Estimating, Construction Engineering or related credential
- Must have 3 plus years experience in estimating and project management in the construction industry
- Work experience in the building/construction industry
- Ability to plan, organize and work to deadlines
- Well spoken, well presented with high personal standards
- Organized and proficient with computers
- Positive attitude, self-motivation and willingness to learn
