News | Apps we love!

Most of our clients, unless they are architects or designers or glued to HGTV (heaven forbid) would not be able to describe the difference between modern or contemporary, and realistically, they shouldn't have to. As designers, it is our job to help get their ideas and "likes" on paper. Its not always easy for clients to describe their style until now.  Magazines and photos are great, however, we find our clients love the new apps such as HOUZZ and Design Within Reach.

One our favourtie retailers Design Within Reach has just launched their own app.  DWR gives customers access to the best in modern design – including iconic works that have been in production since the mid-20th century as well as innovative items designed today – they  made design within reach. So if you are looking to purchase pieces from designers like Saarinen, Eames and Bertoia that were once  "out of reach" for anyone who did not know the secret handshake or have the patience to wait months for delivery, DWR is your answer.

If you are looking for ideas and photos of your style, HOUZZ is a good resource.  The best way to describe Houzz.com is that it is like a virtual gallery of images posted by architects, interior designers and builders who are hoping to get feedback and potential business from their featured imagery. The great thing about Houzz.com is that it is like Pinterest, only for all things related to home design- from fixtures to finishes and everything in between and they will also feature great articles about home design. It is perfect for people who are looking to design a new home, or who are looking to update what they already have. Simply put, house eye-candy.

Professionals post photos of their projects, users filter images by room or style to compile favorites, and everyone engages in free-flowing discussion. The site is now visited by some six million unique viewers each month (with millions more using its iPhone and iPad apps) and offers 500,000-plus photos from over 85,000 design experts, including  Capoferro Design Build Group

Happy surfing!
