As
part of our initiative to Build Greener, Capoferro has made the commitment to build
every new Capoferro home to be ENERGY STAR® Qualified.
Sometimes it's what you can't see
that's most important! As an ENERGY STAR
qualified builder, our homes will be over 30% more energy efficient than
homes built to the minimum code requirements. These new homes are independently verified by
a third-party Home Energy Rater to ensure they meet ENERGY STAR® energy
efficiency guidelines.
ENERGY STAR® qualified homes are only
built by licensed ENERGY STAR® builders
who incorporate resource efficient features into the home to reduce heating,
electricity, and water use. Sit back and enjoy the comfort, lower utility
costs, and peace of mind that come from building a home that is better for you
and the environment.
Capoferro has begun the process
of becoming a licensed ENERGY STAR® qualified
builder. You can take comfort in knowing
that your home uses less heating energy, less electricity and less water than
other new homes built to conventional standards.
What Makes a Home ENERGY STAR®?
Effective Insulation
Properly installed and inspected insulation in
floors, walls, and attics ensures even temperatures throughout the house,
reduced energy use, and increased comfort.
High-Performance Windows
Energy-efficient windows employ advanced
technologies, such as protective coatings and improved frames, to help keep
heat in during winter and out during summer. These windows also block damaging
ultraviolet sunlight that can discolor carpets and furnishings.
Tight Construction and Ducts
Sealing holes and cracks in the home's
"envelope" and in heating and cooling duct systems helps reduce
drafts, moisture, dust, pollen, and noise. A tightly sealed home improves
comfort and indoor air quality while reducing utility and maintenance.
Efficient Heating and Cooling Equipment
In addition to using less energy to operate,
energy-efficient heating and cooling systems can be quieter, reduce indoor
humidity, and improve the overall comfort of the home. When properly installed
into a tightly sealed home, this equipment won't have to work so hard to heat
and cool the home.
Efficient Products
ENERGY STAR® qualified homes may also be
equipped with ENERGY STAR® qualified products — lighting fixtures, compact fluorescent
bulbs, ventilation fans, and appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers,
and washing machines.
Third-Party Verification
With the help of independent Home Energy
Raters, ENERGY STAR® builder partners choose the most appropriate energy-saving features
for their homes. Additionally, raters conduct onsite testing and inspections to
verify the energy efficiency measures, as well as insulation, air tightness,
and duct sealing details.
There are many benefits to owning an ENERGY STAR® qualified home such as lower utilities costs, comfort in know that your home exceeds minimum building code requirements and most importantly, you are reducing our energy needs and building a cleaner environment for the future.
