Hydronic Radiant Floor Heating

Aside from the long-term cost benefits, RFH heating is silent heat, with no loud air ducts or furnaces to deal with. It's also better for people with allergies -- eliminating blown air can significantly reduce dust mites. It is for these reasons that RFH is rising in popularity as an efficient and comfortable way to heat the home.

How does it work? Hydronic radiant floor heating uses heated water to warm the floor slab through conduction.  In one method, flexible, durable, non-toxic pipes are laid over the subfloor and are poured into thin layer of concrete.  Hot water from a boiler fills the pipes and the thermal mass of the concrete ensures that the entire floor slab is heated evenly, feeling comfortably warm to the touch.  The heated water recirculates through the closed loop system reducing water and energy waste.  

RFH is typically installed in spaces where people spend the most time, including the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom.  It is also compatible with most floor finish materials, such as tile and wood flooring.  Furthermore, it can be zoned so that the heating in each space operates independently from other spaces in the home, allowing for customizable user control and energy efficiency.
