Project Update: Raising the Roof

Raising the roof on a project is certainly one of the most important milestones. In this video you can see the trusses being delivered directly to the roof top and erected in place. This project has a large roof and our concern was that it would overpower the home and also seem too plain and flat. So, we took it to the  drawing board and designed a contemporary detail to break up the vast area of the roof.  We teamed up with our framer, Rogers Carpentry to make it happen. You can see that every 8 ft on the roof pitch there is a “step-up”. You can begin to see the effect as they start to install the sheathing. This “step-up” gives the roof its own architectural detail, enhancing the horizontal lines to provide visual interest, no longer a simple roof. It is these design initiatives  and the collaboration with our trades that make the all difference in a home built by Capoferro.

As the weather gets better and the days longer, Anthony Di Sarra and the crew are busy on site planning the next phase of construction. Back in the office, Francesco Di Sarra and his team are crafting every aspect of this home from stylized soffits to modern bronze columns and several other carefully designed details. Stayed tuned for more…

As always, thank you for your feedback and emails, we love to hear from you so keep them coming! (buildingdreams@capoferro.com)
